Mary Czynszak-Lyne University Staff Child Care Award Fund

This private fund provides one-time financial support to permanent full-time University Staff employees who need assistance for child care with the intention of supporting, retention, campus climate and emergency assistance.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award, you must be a permanent University Staff employee and work in a benefits-eligible position.

You must:

Work full-time in a benefits-eligible position
Have a permanent University Staff appointment for at least twelve months prior to application

Are not a student, post-doc or fellow
- Degree-seeking students are encouraged to apply for the Child Care Tuition Assistance Program
Are not an employee of UW Hospitals, UW System or UW Medical Foundation
Are either single or have a spouse/legal domestic partner who is also employed > 50%
Have the ability to submit the prior year’s income tax documentation
Be the parent or legal guardian of the child in care, verified by your tax return
Be responsible for your child(ren)’s child care costs

Your child(ren) must:

Be enrolled in a licensed and/or accredited early care and education program in the State of Wisconsin. Applicants should confirm provider status before applying for this award.

Priority is given to employees:

With lower incomes and higher child care expenses, especially those with infants, and/or
In cases where discretionary one time funding will provide immediate assistance in dealing with an unexpected event that affects the family’s ability to cover child care costs.

Awards

Funding for the Mary Czynszak-Lyne University Staff Child Care Award Fund is made possible by individual donations. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Grants are always awarded based on fund availability and family need. Awards range from $500-$1000.
