On behalf of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Office of Child Care and Family Resources (OCCFR), I extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to all new and returning parenting students for the upcoming academic year!
As a team, we understand the unique challenges and responsibilities that come with balancing academics, family life, and personal growth. Being a student parent requires immense dedication, and we want you to know that we are here to support you every step of the way.
Our office is dedicated to offering a wide range of resources, programs, and services specifically designed to meet the needs of parenting students like you. Whether you need assistance with child care, tips on balancing your schedule, or simply a community to connect with, we are here to help. From child care financial assistance to information on finding quality child care, we strive to make your journey a bit easier so you can focus on your studies.
Throughout the year, we host family-friendly events and educational programs designed to build a supportive community among parenting students. These gatherings offer wonderful opportunities to connect, share experiences, and learn from each other.
For our breastfeeding parents, we’ve made sure to provide comfortable and private lactation rooms across campus. We hope these spaces make it easier for you to continue caring for your child while pursuing your academic goals.
And finally, we’ve continued to grow our library of campus and community family resources related to housing, transportation, food, child development and special needs, healthcare, mental health and more to help you support your family’s needs.
We encourage you to explore the many resources available through OCCFR, participate in our programs, and connect with fellow parenting students.
