Grant Testimonials
“This year while discussing my professional goals with my director, I was encouraged to attend the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) conference. This conference is the nation’s largest gathering of early childhood professionals. As an Instructional Specialist who teaches and supervises both young children and college students, I was excited about the opportunities at this conference for growth in both of these roles.
I am so thankful to the Office of Child Care and Family Resources for all of their work and financial assistance to help me attend this conference. A grant from the Lynn E. Edlefson fund also helped to pay for registration fees. Not only did I gain a wealth of knowledge, but I feel more respected in my position after networking with professionals that have the same interest as me. These are the types of events that continue to reignite my passion for early childhood education, advocacy and supervising the next generation of professionals. So, thank you for funding this conference.”

“Thank you for the sensory table and changing table that we received through the OCCFR office grant. Niiji had a broken sensory table before. The changing table was also very old and the mat was ripped and hard to replace. We received a better quality changing table with better stairs and individual drawers for each child attached to the table. For our sensory table, we also have a long hose to dump the dirty water out which is very practical for teachers. We do not have to carry it to the sink. It also has wheels.
Niiji children enjoy utilizing the sensory table with fun materials in it. They have a chance to do sensory play and discharge their energy through sensory activities by having fun. We also received new books and toys through the grants. Children enjoy reading the books with their teachers and develop their pre-reading skills through reading stories.”
