  • Hourly/Backup Care

Little Chicks non-traditional care provides hourly and/or back-up care located at 5003 University Ave (across parking lot from their traditional location at 601 N. The site also offers limited short-term contracted care while families seek their full-time caregivers.

  • Mildly Ill Care

The Office of Child Care and Family Resources has contracted with a new provider for mildly-ill child care. Maxim Healthcare Services will be providing in-home care for children that are too sick to attend their regular child care provider/school. Families must submit a Kids Kare application to check on their eligibility to use the Maxim services. Unfortunately, at this time, Maxim cannot take private pay families. Please check the Kids Kare page for more information.

  • Kid Kare Funding

Kids-Kare is a financial assistance program that provides a free or reduced rate to income eligible UW-Madison students, faculty and staff when using hourly/back-up or mildly ill child care.

For faculty and staff, the reduced rates and access to this type of service is due to the incredible support of the Women’s Philanthropy Council who which has supported both the facility by providing funds for site renovations; and the popular Kids Kare program that provides the reduced rate option.

Students have access to this program thanks to the ongoing support from the UW-Madison Student Service Finance Committee. Again, letters of support can be forwarded to our office or sent directly to the committee chair at ssfcchair@gmail.com.

Please see the Kids-Kare page for application and more information.
